Hosts India came back strongly against Australia in their second match of the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 following their shock loss to South Korea in their first game of the competition this year. With three league matches to go, Anup Kumar and Co. have really got to bring their best show possible to make it to the knockouts now.
After Sunday's matches, India stay second in Group A with six points from two matches. South Korea, meanwhile, top the group with 10 points from two games. Bangladesh is slowly catching up as they have five points from one game so far.
The battle for supremacy in Group A of the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 takes place on Monday as two sporting giants, Australia and England, get set to ply their trade in the kabaddi turf. Both the teams are lying at the bottom of the table as of now and the match is not expected to be as fiery as Tuesday's match, which sees hosts India clash with neighbours Bangladesh.
The score on Saturday was 54-20 as India outclassed Australia. On the same day, the Md Aruduzzaman Munshi-led Bangladesh Kabaddi team thrashed England with a 52-18 score.
"For opponents like Bangladesh and Iran, we will play against them with the same passion and aggression. That is the plan for all the games and we will not take anyone lightly," said Arjuna Award winner Anup Kumar ahead of the upcoming crucial match. "Bangladesh is also a good team and we will minimise our mistakes and try to win it," the U Mumba man added.
