Argentina in action against Australia in the Kabaddi World Cup 2016IANS

After recording dominating wins over Australia and Bangladesh, the India Kabaddi team will take on Argentina in their fourth match of the ongoing Kabaddi World Cup 2016 in Ahmedabad on Saturday. The Anup Kumar led side look very well to make it to the knockouts of the tournament, provided they keep continuing their momentum.

India started off their campaign with a shock defeat against South Korea, but came back strongly against the Aussies and thereafter, neighbours Bangladesh in a mouth-watering match. India bagged a 57-20 win in the match, with Ajay Thakur and Pardeep Narwal shining.

India are currently second from Group A in the tournament and another win over Argentina, who are currently at the bottom and without a win, can consolidate their position on top and enter the semi-finals with ease.

"We have prepared well for the match. We had good 2-3 days to prepare ourselves for the match," Arjuna Award winner Anup was quoted as saying by IANS ahead of the match.

"We are concentrating on our game, we have a good defence and tackle and are sharpening our skills. We will play our natural game," he added.

Against Argentina, the Indian defenders need to be sharp as the raiders in the South American team have performed quite impressively in their previous matches of the tournament.

Schedule

India vs Argentina is scheduled for a 9 pm IST (4:30 pm BST, 9:30 am EST) start on October 15.
