Some sources confirmed Vijay will be seen in a gladiator-like look in this movie, which narrates the story of a kingdom. The latest rumour suggests that the superstar will be seen playing the role of an artist and historical characters in his paintings will be seen coming to life in the flick.

Noting the latest rumours, fans are now expecting a fantasy thriller which will be Ilayathalapathy's best. Meanwhile, the makers of the movie are tight-lipped about the film and its characters. Several reports state that the makers are striving hard to release the first-look poster of the movie soon.

The film also has Kannada superstar Sudeep, who will play the antagonist as the commander of the kingdom. Hansika will play the role of the princess and legendary actress Sridevi will be seen playing the queen, Hansika's mother.

Sridevi's last Tamil movie was "Naan Adimai Illai" (1986) and her Tamil fans are expecting her to make a marvellous comeback with the Vijay starrer.

"Puli" is directed by Chimbudevan and this magnum opus period drama made with a budget of ₹90 crore. The film's shooting kick-started on 12 November at a palatial set made in Adityaran Studios, in Chennai.

As per the latest reports, after 70 days of shooting, nearly 50% of the film's shooting is complete; but the audience will have to wait longer for its release.
