Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is coming up with another period drama, "Padmavati," and he has reportedly roped in Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for it. However, the recent buzz is that the duo will not share screen space in the movie.
"Padmavati" is based on ruler Alauddin Khilji's obsession with Rani Padmavati. The film will also star "Raman Raghav 2.0" actor Vicky Kaushal, who will play in the character of Padmavati's husband. "Padmavati is the ultimate saga of forbidden love. Ranveer's character is completely besotted by Deepika. The state of Mewar goes to war against the Khilji dynasty over her honour. But she never meets the man who loses his heart to her. So, there will be not a shot where Ranveer and Deepika will shoot together," a source told DNA.
The fans will be disappointed to know that one of the most romantic couples will not share screen space in this film. Deepika and Ranveer have won hearts with their amazing on-screen chemistry in "Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ram Leela" and "Bajirao Mastani."
On the other hand, Deepika has not confirmed that she will star in "Padmavati." She has, however, said at the IIFA Green Carpet 2016 that she will start the shooting of her upcoming project in the next two months. And Bhansali's "Padmavati"' will also go on floors in September, thus, speculations are rife that the actress is talking about the period drama.
Deepika and Ranveer, who made headlines of parting ways recently, rubbished the rumours when the hunk blew a couple of flying kiss to Deepika. He made this adorable gesture when the actress was performing on IIFA Awards 2016 on Ranveer's song, "Malhari."
In fact, Ranveer tweeted a cute post after winning the Best Actor award with Deepika, who won the Best Actress award at IIFA. "Leela to my Ram...Mastani to my Bajirao... Best Actress to my Best Actor @deepikapadukone #IIFA2016 Koi Shaq?" he wrote.
