the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) declared Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination results 2016 on Friday. Also called Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) examinations, it had 1.58 lakh and 70,600 students appearing for them, respectively.

The pass percentage for Class 10 of 2016 is 98.5 percent (it was 98.49 percent in 2015), with the Southern region performing the best. The North and the Eastern regions lagged behind.

For Class 12, the overall pass percentage stood at 96.46 percent (it was 96.28 percent in 2015).

Class 10 topper this year is Abhineet Parichay with an aggregate score of a whopping 99.2 percent. He hails from Bolangiri. The second position has been secured by four students Sudarshan R (Bangalore), Isha Sethi (Mumbai), Manan Manish Shah (Kandivali) and Jyotsana Srivastava (Lucknow) with an aggregate of 99 percent. The third position has been shared by as many as 10 students with 98.8 percent each.

Class 12 exams have been topped by Aadyaa Madi with an aggregate score of 99.75 percent. Mansi Puggal secured the second position with 99.50 percent. Both are from Mumbai. The third position was shared by Arkadeb Sengupta and Kavita Desai from Kolkata, who scored 99.25 percent each.

Girls performed better than boys in both the classes. Over 75,000 girls appeared in Class 10 exam and 33,000 in Class 12.
