Home-bred smartphone manufacturer iBall has heated up the budget smartphone battle in India with the launch of its two new Android smartphones dubbed Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet.
iBall Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet smartphones have been listed on the company website with price tags of ₹5,699 and ₹5,199 respectively. Beside iBall online store, other e-retailer stores have also listed the smatphones on their websites. The popular e-retailer Flipkart is selling iBall 4PIPS Velvet at a price point of ₹4098.
Coming to the features of the smartphones, the handsets have quite similar features in terms of the processor, operating system, screen, display and the cameras. iBall Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet sport 4-inch IPS display with a (WVGA) 480x800 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 233ppi. Powered by the dual Core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 Advanced Processor along with 256 MB RAM, both the smartphones use Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box OS. The handsets come equipped with 5.0-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also a front camera for video chatting. There is also 2GB internal storage onboard, which can be expanded by upto 32 GB with microSD card. The smartphones are backed by 1300 mAh battery.
Moving on to the connectivity features of the iBall's new budget offerings, the Andi4 IPS Gem supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, GPS/A-GPS, EDGE/GPRS and 3G, whereas the Andi4 IPS Velvet comes without 3G connectivity.
Earlier last week, iBall's Andi 3.5 KKe Genius and Andi 3.5 KKe Winner made its debut in the country with the price tag of ₹3,999 and₹ 3,499 respectively. These smartphones also come with similar features, and the only difference between them is that the former supports 3G connectivity.
Talking on the specifications of the iBall Genius and the Winner, both sports 3.5-inch HVGA (320x480 pixel) display and are powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor couple with 256MB of RAM. The handsets pack 2GB of built-in storage, with an expandable option by upto 32 GB with microSD card and 3.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a front camera on board. The handsets come loaded with 1250 mAh battery and use Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS.
