"I" ("Ai"), starring Vikram and Amy Jackson, has witnessed a drop in its Ap/Nizam box office collection on the third day.

"I", which hit the screens on 14 January, managed a grand opening on its first day. It emerged as the highest opening day grosser for a dubbed film. The film continued its good run on the second day, despite mixed reports from critics and audience. They had termed "I" as a technically brilliant film, ably supported by Vikram's fantastic performance. However, they said that the film is a let down due to its wafer-thin storyline.

Although the mixed reviews did not have any impact on the film's first two days of collections, it seems to have affected the collections on the third day at the AP/Nizam box office. The Vikram-starrer has earned ₹15.88 crore share in three days in AP/Nizam, according to Andhraboxoffice. Here is the area-wise break-up for the film's collection.

Vizag: ₹1.20 crore, East: ₹1.35 crore, West: ₹1.08 crore, Krishna: ₹0.98 crore, Guntur: ₹1.52 crore, Nellore: ₹0.85 crore, Ceeded: ₹3.40 crore, Nizam: ₹5.50 crore. Total three-day share from AP/Nizam: ₹15.88 crore.

Although the film's performance was decent, there is considerable drop in the collection. While the flick is expected to continue to do decent business on Saturday and Sunday, it needs to be seen as to how the film fares during the weekdays.

"I" is dominating the AP/Nizam screens, but "Gopala Gopala" is expected to take lead over the Vikram-starrer considering that the film has got positive reviews and is doing steady business at the box office.

"I" has also noticed drop in its collection at the US box office. Sales need to pick up so that the first weekend ends on a decent note. "Day 3 #I dropped drastically.Need big leap on Fri & Sat to make decent revenue," tweeted SIMoviesUSA.

Meanwhile, the Hindi version of "I", which hit the screens on 16 January, has opened on a decent note in the northern circuits. The film made a business of around ₹2 crore plus on its first day, according to Koimoi.

Directed by Shankar, "I" is a romantic thriller with Vikram appearing in different looks including that of a crippled man, a suave model and a body builder. Amy Jackson plays the female lead. The film's other cast members are Santhanam, Suresh Gopi and Upen Patel. The film's music has been composed by A.R. Rahman and cinematography handled by P.C. Sreeram. Aascar Ravichandran has produced the big budget entertainer.
