The prototype, which was spotted by the folks at IndianAutosBlog gives almost nothing away as it was seen camouflaged still, but the auto-lovers in the country will be having a clear picture of what to expect on the arrival of this new model from the house of South Korean car maker Hyundai.

Hyundai has been testing its ix25 in India for quite some time now. The model was caught on camera before too and the ix25 is expected to reach Indian shores during the festive season this year, around August.

Once it reaches Indian market, the Hyundai ix25 SUV will be pitted against popular SUVs Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Nissan Terrano in the domestic market.

It is still too early to speculate the prices of the model in the Indian market; rumours are rife that the new Hyundai SUV will fall in the price range of ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh.

As for what resides underneath the ix25, going by the rumours that are swirling around the web, the India-specific version of SUV is likely to include 1.6 litre petrol and diesel units. ix25 is sold in a few international markets with 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines coupled to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions with choices of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

While Hyundai has not confirmed whether the all-wheel drive will also make it to the Indian market, emerging reports suggest an all-wheel is also on the card for the domestic market.

Speaking of the features, ix25 is likely to get central console with audio controls, air con vents and climate controls.
