Codenamed 'Hyundai GS', Hyundai ix25 will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options in India. The engine line-up of the model is likely to include 1.6-litre petrol and diesel mills. In the international market, ix25 is sold with 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines coupled with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, with the choice of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

As for styling, the India-specific version of ix25 is likely to flaunt a design similar to its global counterpart and is expected to get features including central console with audio controls, air con vents and climate controls.

Meanwhile, in a fresh development, while speaking to LiveMint, Hyundai Motor India Senior Vice-President Rakesh Srivastava confirmed that the new SUV ix25 will reach Indian showrooms around August-September this year.

Hyundai, which launched its new crossover i20 Active here on 17 March, is likely to price its SUV ix25 in the range of ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh. Hyundai ix25 will rival Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Nissan Terrano in the Indian market.

"In the sedans, we have the full range from Eon to Elantra. However, we have only the Santa Fe in the premium SUV segment, which is one of the fastest growing segments in India. It's our endeavour to complete the range," Livemint quoted Srivastava as saying.
