New spy shots of Hyundai's upcoming ix25 compact SUV have emerged online, giving us yet another look at the model ahead of its expected unveiling in India next month.
Hyundai's upcoming SUV is still seen hiding under heavy camouflage, hence auto lovers need to wait a little longer for more information on the car. The South Korean auto major has successfully managed to hide all the keyndetails of its next offering, ix25, from the hawk-eyed spy photographers.
The latest spy shots were captured by Indian Autos Blog reader Sanjay Wadhwa, who spotted the test mule on the Greater Noida Expressway.
Hyundai ix25 is prepping for its India debut in August this year, ahead of the festive season. The company has recently confirmed that ix25's pre-launch activities, including test drive for media, will kick–off in India from June .
The styling of India-bound ix25 follows the footsteps of its global counterparts and is expected to come with features like central console with audio controls, air conditioner vents and climate controls. The engine line-up of the India-specific ix25 is expected to pack 1.6-litre petrol and diesel mills with 5- and 6-speed manual transmission.
There have also been rumours about a smaller 1.4-liter diesel engine for the Indian market. In the international market, ix25 is sold with 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines coupled with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, with the choice of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. It is not yet clear if India will also see the all-wheel drive version of ix25. We also hear that the model ix25 will wear a different name in the domestic market.
Hyundai ix25 will compete with Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Nissan Terrano in India, and is expected to carry a price tag in the range of ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh.
