Hyundai ix25 rumour mills have been on a roll for the last few weeks with several launch dates linked to the South Korean maker's next big ticket. Now, it looks like the wait is getting over as the latest word on the internet suggests that Hyundai will pull the wraps off its much–awaited ix25 compact SUV in India before the festive season of this year.
A report in MotorOctane says that Hyundai will launch its new compact SUV ix25 in India around September this year, just ahead of the festive season. The auto lovers in India have already seen numerous spy shots of ix25, which is currently being tested on the roads in India. The company is expected to commence the pre-launch campaign for the new ix25 in June.
Meanwhile, a Motoroids reader has managed to snap the upcoming ix25 yet again, indicating that the work on the new SUV is going at a rapid pace.
Under the skin, India-specific ix25 is expected to pack 1.6-litre petrol and diesel mills with 5- and 6-speed manual transmission. Rumour also has it that the ix2 in India will also get a smaller 1.4-liter diesel engine. In the international market, ix25 is sold with 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines coupled with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, with the choice of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
In India, Hyundai ix25 is likely to be sold with a different name and will be rivalling Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Nissan Terrano. Speaking of the cost, new Hyundai ix25 is expected to carry a price tag in the range of ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh.
