Hyundai's next small car christened as Grand i10 is reportedly set to make its debut in India on 3 September, says a new report.

According to Autocar India, which seemed to have got the confirmation from the people close to the development, India's second-largest car manufacturer Hyundai will launch its recently announced Grand i10 in the country on 3 September. The car, which is positioned between Hyundai's best selling hatchbacks i10 and i20, will take on Maruti's bestseller Swift, Wagon R Stingray and Ford Figo.

"Hyundai's new Grand i10 hatchback is confirmed for a September 3 launch in India," noted Autocar India.

Although the pricing of the car for the Indian market is yet to be revealed by the company, it is expected to fall in the price range starting from ₹4.5 lakhs.

With the launch of new i10 variant, the competition in the hatchback segment is expected to scale new heights. The car, which is also expected to make its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, will replace the current i10 in Europe and other auto markets.

Regarding the mechanical specifications of the upcoming Hyundai Grand i10, the car will come with 1.2l kappa petrol engine that delivers 85 PS and 1.1-litre and three cylinder U2 VGT diesel motor engine. With the 1.1 litre diesel engine, Grand i10 will become the cheapest diesel offering in the country. Going by the latest spy shot of the car, Grand i10 is likely to pack features like climate control, dual airbags, audio system with USB, aux-in and Bluetooth compatibility, alloy wheels, chrome door handles, electric wing mirrors and keyless entry.
