It looks like South Korean auto maker Hyundai has got it all right with its latest offering Creta. The unprecedented demand for the SUV is giving the dealers of the company a tough time. The latest is that the waiting period of Creta SUV in India has been extended up to 10 months due to the increasing demand for the model.

A report of AutoCar India states that the waiting period of Hyundai Creta automatic has gone up to ten months in the country, while the petrol and diesel offerings of the model enjoy a waiting period of up to six months. Although the increasing demand has forced the company to extend the waiting period, a few recent reports suggest that Hyundai is planning to expand the production of Creta, which would help the company to reduce the waiting period.

Creta is a perfect SUV, with its styling and feature package earning overwhelming response from the auto lovers across the country. The company, which opened the bookings for the new Creta earlier last month has clocked over 15,000 prior to its launch and the number is still going up.

Priced in the range of Rs 8.59 lakh to Rs 13.60 lakh, the new Hyundai Creta is being offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. Under the hood, Creta gets 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine, which can churn out 123PS and 151Nm of torque, 1.6 litre CRDI diesel engine that is tuned to pump out 128PS of power and 260Nm of torque and 1.4 litre CRDI diesel motor.

The 1.6 litre CRDI diesel mill of Creta comes mated to automatic transmission, while 6-speed manual gearbox takes care of the transmission in other petrol and diesel engines.Hyundai Creta 1.6 petrol engine promises a fuel efficiency of 15.29 kmpl, while the 1.4 diesel and 1.6 diesel engine variants offer 21.38 kmpl and 19.67 kmpl mileage, respectively.
