South Korean car maker Hyundai unveiled a face-lifted version of its popular SUV, the Creta, at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show that started on November 8.

The new version gets reworked face, which is sharper than the current version sold in India. At the front, the radiator grille is larger and it gets a chrome outlining. Horizontal three-line grille insert in the chrome has made way for thick, dark coloured slates. Vertically positioned fog lamps have been replaced with a slim horizontally designed unit. The faux skid plate on the lower front bumper is wider now and it has been housed in the reworked front bumper.

The rear and side profile largely carried over from the current version. The notable changes on the sides are the new 17-inch Diamond cut alloy wheels in dark shade. The black plastic cladding has been incorporated in wheelarches, at the bottom of doors and bumpers. At the rear, arrangement inside the tail lamps has been reworked, but the design stays untouched. A fin antenna has been added and the reflectors at the rear bumper are also repositioned.

On the inside, the dashboard has been slightly tweaked, while steering wheel and overall layout remain the same. The seats, door pads and certain area of the dashboard gets brown colour upholstery. He driver seats now boasts ventilation. The SUV also flaunts engine start/stop button, keyless entry, rear parking sensors and automatic aircon. The SUV will come with an infotainment system with 7-inch display integrated for GPS, MP3 Player, player photos and videos, USB and auxiliary, Bluetooth connection with audio streaming, access to phonebook and call history.

On safety, Creta facelift features six airbags, ESC, Hill Accent Control, tire pressure monitoring and ISOFIX seat fixing clamps.

The new version will initially go on sale in the Brazilian market with 1.6 and 2.0-litre engine that uses flexfuel. When the new version comes to India sometime in 2017, it will continue with the same three engines sold with the current models -- 1.6 VTVT petrol, 1.4 CRDi diesel and 1.6 CRDi diesel.
