Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) launched the Creta SUV on July 21, 2015 with a pre-launch booking of 15,000 units. The Creta SUV became a runaway success for the Korean company and currently has over 90,000 units bookings.

As the company celebrates the successful first year of Creta in India mid-2016, a new special edition of the SUV will be launched. The anniversary edition of the Creta was announced by Puneet Anand, General Manager (Marketing) & Group Head of HMIL, in an interview with Gaadiwaadi.com.

The anniversary edition is expected to come with minor cosmetic add-ons and more features inside the cabin. What can be expected are updated music system with Bluetooth connectivity, sport pedals, anniversary edition special floor mats, seat covers, parcel tray, and door sil plates. On the exterior, the anniversary edition may sport glossy black roof wrap, body decals, special badging on the bootlid and blacked out window frame in line with the Elite i20 special edition which HMIL launched last October.

The powertrains are not expected to get any changes. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine in Creta churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. All engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre CRDi is also available with 6-speed automatic transmission.
