Karachi, Dec 14 (ANI): Hundreds of activists and supporters of Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami staged countrywide protests on Friday to condemn the execution of Bangladeshi Islamist leader Abdul Quader Mollah. Bangladesh executed Mollah on Thursday for war crimes he committed during the 1971 war of independence from Pakistan. In Pakistan’s commercial capital, Karachi, more than five hundred supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami took to streets after Friday prayers. Holding banners and party flags, they shouted slogans and held funeral prayers-in-absentia for Mollah. More than two hundred rallied in Lahore and dozens staged protest in the capital Islamabad while over one hundred protesters rallied in the city of Peshawar.
