HTC U (aka Ocean), which is slated to debut later this month has made a stop at a popular benchmarking site revealing device's two key features.

HTC CBP, understood to be the upcoming HTC U has scored impressive 6137 and 1912 points on single-core and multi-core tests, respectively on the Geekbench website.

In the description section, HTC device is shown to have Qualcomm's most powerful CPU yet, Snapdragon 835 octa-core paired with 4GB RAM. The system configuration of HTC U is on par with Samsung's recently released Galaxy S8 series.

Going by the leaked information in the recent past, HTC U is shaping up to be quite a formidable smartphone, which can turn the fortunes around for the company. For the past couple of years, HTC revenue has been witnessing continuous decline, as the company's flagship phones lacked improvement in terms of innovation compared to rivals. This year, HTC U, as shown in the last two official teasers, is said to come with game changing feature.

Upcoming HTC U series is said to boast ultra-sensitive frame dubbed as 'Edge Sense' technology that can perform all the functions of the physical buttons (power on/off and volume rockers) seen in current crop of smartphones.

It is also intuitive enough to differentiate between the actual or false touch of the finger, so that the screen is not turned on or off unintentionally when kept in the pocket.

It is also believed that the touch-sensitive frame can also perform additional functions including scrolling, act as shutter button for camera, switch between apps and many more.

Other expected features include 5.5-inch QHD screen, 64GB/128GB internal storage, 12MP camera on the back, 16MP snapper on the front and also boast Bluetooth 5.0 like in rival Samsung Galaxy S8 series.

For those unaware, HTC is hosting a product launch event to unveil the new HTC U series phone in three cities- New York, London and Taipei on May 16.

Since the launch is less than three weeks, HTC is most likely to release a few more teaser videos or photos to highlight key features in the upcoming HTC U series phone.
