Before HTC could officially announce the price, popular Taiwanese e-commerce firm e-Price has jumped the gun by revealing that the HTC U would cost less than the company's current flagship U Ultra.

The upcoming new HTC U 11 (aka Ocean), which is slated to break covers next week on May 16, is expected to hit stores on May 19 with prices starting at TWD $ 19,900 (approx. US$659/€603/Rs. 42,302), much less than HCT Ultra (with generation-old Snapdragon 821 processor).

If this is true, HTC U 11- which is said to come with many game-changing features, will definitely give established brands such as Samsung Galaxy S8 (& S8+) and LG G6, a run for their money.

HTC U 11: what we know so far

As per the three official teasers, HTC U 11 is confirmed to come with glossy coloured glass-and-metal-based body and boasts of a 369-video recording feature and the state-of-the-art 'Edge Sense' frame technology, which can perform all the functions of a physical button such as power on/off and volume up/down.

Its touch-sensitive frame can also perform additional functions including scrolling, shutter button for camera, switch between apps and many more.

HTC's Edge Sense technology is also said to be intuitive enough to differentiate between the actual or false touch of the finger, so that the screen is not turned on or off unintentionally when kept in pocket.

As far as hardware is considered, it is expected to have a 5.5-inch QHD screen with 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage, 12MP camera on the back, 16MP snapper on the front and also Bluetooth 5.0, which will allow wireless transfer of data between smartphones up to 800 feet.

The company is expected to roll-out more teasers ahead of the launch.
