HTC is tight-lipped about product launches at its upcoming event on 9 April, but new devices have been appearing in the wild.

While the anticipation is around the much-awaited One M9 Plus, there's another HTC smartphone that might just be unveiled in the days to come.

If the images dug up by GSM Arena hold any authenticity, the One E9 will be added to HTC's smartphone portfolio soon. The fresh images offer a closer look at the device, helping us confirm more details about the unannounced handset.

According to the publication, the images show the rumoured HTC One E9 featuring the company's signature circular camera module and BoomSound stereo speakers. If the rumours are true, the handset will run a MediaTek MT6795 processor and boast a 5.5-inch QHD display with 1440x2560 pixels. It will also feature 3GB RAM, 32GB built in space for storing files and Android Lollipop with Sense UI to run the show.

The leaked images also highlight the camera module, suggesting a 20-megapixel shooter for the rear side and 4MP front facing UltraPixel snapper.

Rumors of HTC One E9 started earlier this month, with popular mobile tipster Upleaks sharing key information about the device. In addition to the abovementioned features, Upleaks also revealed that a microSD card will be an option to support up to 128GB of extra space on One E9 and will come in three colour options, White Rose Gold, Metallic Gray and Brown Gold.

There is nothing concrete on the pricing and availability of the handset, but HTC's upcoming event next month might shed more light on those details, if the product is official announced.
