Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC is reportedly planning to launch new One A9 in India next week.

HTC has begun sending out invites to select media outlets for an event scheduled for 25 November, reported BGR India.

The cryptic invitation reads: "Save the date____ 25.11.2015," giving no clue about what the company is planning to launch in the coming Wednesday.

But on closer observation of the invitation's black hued coal back ground, we get the hint that HTC might release the recently-unveiled One A9 in India.

The company had actually used same backdrop for the teaser of HTC One A9's unveiling on 20 October.

It is already available in the US for $399.99 (around €352/Rs. 26, 050), now HTC One A9 will soon hit the stores in India.

HTC One A9 is an upper mid-range phone with fairly good hardware, but it's exterior look is a bit controversial. HTC has been slammed by tech critics for blatantly using Apple iPhone 6 series design language on the company's device.

HTC One A9's all-metal body with curved corners, and the white antenna strips (top and bottom) on the rear-side are also uncanny. The only difference is that the HTC phone houses the primary camera module in the top centre, whereas the Apple device features the camera on the top left corner.

Under the hood, it is powered by the new Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor backed by 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB inbuilt storage capacity, 2150 mAh battery, which can keep the phone running for close to 18 days.

One of the talking points of HTC One A9 is that it ships with the v6.0 Android OS, making it the first non-Nexus series ship with Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box.

The company has also confirmed that HTC One A9 will get new Android updates 15 days after the Nexus series gets them.
