Twitter spy LlabTooFeR has revealed that the HTC One A9 w (aka Aero) will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with custom UI Sense v7.0 out-of-the-box.

When a fan asked about the unveiling of the phone, he was told that HTC will launch a new flagship smartphone either by the end of October or early November. If this turns out to be true, One A9 will be the first non-Nexus brand to ship with latest Android OS.

However, LlabTooFer's claim on HTC device's release schedule  is contradictory to reports of the Taiwanese company hosting a launch event on 29 September in China. The invitation comes with a graphic poster showing two mountain slopes with roman numerical 'II' and a caption which reads (translated, courtesy PhoneArena), "The World Best Meets The Best". It is believed that HTC will unveil two marquee devices – the Butterfly 3 and the rumoured A9 series.

HTC is yet to respond to the report.

As of now, there is no word on what features the Butterfly 3 will come with, but One A9 is expected to boast of a 2.5D curved glass on the front. It will come packed with MediaTek's new Helio X20 Deca-core SoC (System on Chip) backed by 4GB RAM and a state-of-art camera on the rear-side, much superior to HTC One M9.

The handset is likely to be priced in the range of ¥ 3000 to ¥4000 Yuan ($468-$624/€406-€542/Rs 31,050 to Rs 41,360).
