IFA 2014: HTC Desire 820 with 64-bit Snapdragon 615 Octa-core CPU UnveiledHTC Blog

Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC is reportedly planning to launch the 64 bit processor-powered mid-range handset Desire 820 in India this month.

The company has begun sending out the invites to the select media houses for a launch event on 23 September in New Delhi.

Though there is no mention of the significance of the occasion in the invitation, NDTV sources believe HTC is likely to launch the Desire 820 in India.

HTC Desire 820 was originally unveiled early this month at the recently concluded IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2014 in Germany.

The main USP of the Desire 820 is that the phone boasts of Qualcomm's 64-bit architecture-based chipset, which makes it future-proof for upcoming Android L series software and also support cat.4 LTE network.

Another advantage of 64-bit Octa-core CPU is that device's workload can be efficiently managed, as it will be able to assign a function to separate quad-cores based on the priority.

[Note: iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus are the only devices in the market to ship 64-bit based processor.

HTC Desire 820 sports a 5.5-inch HD display and ships with latest Android OS with Sense UI powered by 2GB RAM, Octa-core processor, 16GB inbuilt memory (128GB).

On camera front, it boasts of 13.0-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, F/2.2, 28mm lens, 1,080p video recording and to attract selfie enthusiasts, company has incorporated a 8.0-megapixel with BSI sensor, full HD recording capability for high-definition video chatting.
