The wait is over. The Japanese auto maker Honda has finally pulled the wraps off its highly anticipated Mobilio MPV in India.

Mobilio, the stylish seven-seater MPV made its first appearance at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 and since then the car has been trying the patience of auto enthusiasts in the country. Now finally when it's launched, it's definitely worth taking a look.

Honda Mobilio, the company's first MPV offering in India has been exclusively designed and developed for Asian market and the company has made all the efforts to price the vehicle competitively in the domestic market. The company will be bringing the sport variant of Mobilio, dubbed as Mobilio RS to India in September.

Honda Mobilio, a stylish and highly competitive package from the maker of Amaze and City gets power from 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine and 1.5 L i-VTEC petrol engine. While the diesel engine of the Mobilio is tuned to deliver 100 ps @ 3,600 rpm, maximum torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm, the petrol model promises to churn out a maximum power of 119 ps @ 6,600 rpm, maximum torque of 145 Nm @ 4,600 rpm. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission, with best in class fuel economy of 24.2 kmpl for diesel and 17.3 kmpl for petrol. The car, which comes seated on a wheelbase of 2,652 mm, measures 4,386 mm in length, 1,683 mm in width and 1,603 mm in height.

The vehicle will be available in three grades in India - E, S and V and the top variant Mobilio RS will come in RS grade diesel. The new MPV comes donned in seven body colours - Brilliant Gold Metallic (New and exclusive), Carnelian Red Pearl, Majestic Blue Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Taffeta White. In addition to this, the RS Sporty Mobilio will get exclusive Crystal Black Pearl body paint. 

Talking about the features offered in the new Mobilio, the car comes loaded with safety features like Front Dual SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Pretentioner seat belts with load limiters and impact mitigating headrests. The ABS with EBD is standard across all the Diesel variants. The car will also get roof mounted AC for rear passengers, bottle holder for all three rows, slide (first and second row) and recline seats (all three rows), 2 DIN audio system, security alarm and dual tone interior.

The RS variant comes with Projector headlamps, LED position lamps, stylish Alloy Wheel design, Sporty Chrome grille, Tailgate spoiler, side sill garnish, retractable ORVM with turn indicators and Chrome exterior door handles.

In India, Mobilio will be pegged against Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia. The company has already commenced the booking for Mobilio with an advance payment ₹50,000 and the delivery of the vehicle will start from Wednesday (23 July).
