Japanese automaker Honda is all set to pull the wraps off its much-anticipated Mobilio in India tomorrow (23 July).
Honda Mobilio, country's first multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) from the Japanese auto-maker, is expected to make big impact in the Indian automobile segment with its styling and packaging.
Though the launch of the car is taking place tomorrow, the auto enthusiasts in the country already have crystal-clear picture of what they are going to get from Mobilio. Thanks to the awful lot of details and images floating on the internet.
Expected to fall in the price range of ₹6 lakh to ₹8.50 lakh (ex-showroom), Honda's latest offering Mobilio measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width, and 1,610 mm in height. The car, which is underpinning its small-car siblings Brio and Amaze looks identical to them in many ways – especially in the front.
The Mobilio, the latest entrant in the MPV segment, flaunts a smarter and cooler look than its counterparts. Inside the cabin, it looks similar to the Amaze / Brio.
However, Honda has taken steps to cut down the cost of the vehicle by eliminating AVN package and faux-wood trims. The Mobilio gets a black-beige colour combination with silver accents and the ample boot-space and the leg-room is another plus of the Honda's new car.
Beneath the skin, Honda's Mobilio also comes equipped with 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engines.
The petrol motor can churn out a power of 117 bhp at 6600 rpm and the diesel unit can pump in 99 bhp @ 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm torque @ 1,750 rpm.
The engine will come mated to a five-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
With the launch of Mobilio, the company's first MPV will also become the country's most fuel-efficient vehicle in this segment. While the diesel model of Mobilio is expected to deliver 26 kmpl, the petrol version is likely to give 18 kmpl.
In India, Mobilio will be competing with other multi-purpose vehicles including Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia. The company has already commenced the booking for Mobilio with an advance payment ₹50,000 and the delivery of the vehicle is likely to be varied depending upon the variant of the Mobilio.
