Indian auto lovers will soon be able to lay their hands on the new Honda Jazz, but rumour mills are on overdrive with several different launch dates and features linked to the Japanese auto maker's next premium hatchback.

Although the exact launch details of new Jazz is yet to be made public, it is almost certain that Honda will roll out the new avatar of its premium hatchback in India this year, and in all probability as early as June.

Now the latest that is coming our way is that Honda Jazz could also get a sporty variant RS in India like the company's MPV offering Mobilio RS.

A report of Indian Autos Blog claims that Honda Jazz RS variant could also be an option for the Indian market, as the model is being offered in the international market with various kits. The report also added that Honda currently does not have any plans for the cross variant of Jazz. Rumours had hit the web that the maker of Honda is considering a Cross variant of Jazz for the Brazilian market and the same could find its way into the Indian market as well.

Under the hood, Jazz 2015 is likely to pack the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, which can generate a power of 87bhp with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm, and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque. The petrol model of Jazz is expected to come with CVT gearbox.

In its comeback avatar in the Indian market, Honda 2015 Jazz new Jazz will be pitted against Maruti Suzuki Swift, Nissan Micra, and Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20.
