Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has introduced a new variant of its best-selling Amaze sedan in India with added safety features in both petrol and diesel options.

The model, known as Amaze SX, is placed above the Amaze S variant. Now with the addition of the latest SX model, Amaze will be available in 12 variants namely E, EX, S, SX and VX in both petrol and diesel models and S AT and VX AT models in the petrol option.

The petrol variant of the Amaze SX is priced ₹6.22 lakh, while the diesel SX goes for ₹7.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In addition to the features available in Amaze S, the SX comes equipped with twin front airbags and Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS) which are standard in petrol and diesel models.

Honda has been high on sucess since the launch of its Amaze in the country. The petrol variant of Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine and gives a fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl. The diesel variant, developed specifically for the Indian market, comes with a 1.5 i-DTEC engine and offers a fuel efficiency of 25.8 kmpl, making it the one of the most fuel efficient diesel cars in the Indian market.
