Honda launched the much-awaited the BR-V SUV in India on Thursday, May 5. The SUV has been priced between Rs. 8.75 to 12.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Honda BR-V is open for bookings in the country with a down payment of Rs. 21,000.

Honda Cars India is all set to pull the wraps off its highly anticipated BR-V SUV in India on Thursday, May 5. To be pitted against Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano in India, the BR-V SUV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 8.5 to 13 lakh.

Honda has already started accepting the bookings for the BR-V prior to its launch and the initial numbers have shown that the new SUV is receiving good response. However, Honda is yet to release any figure on the exact bookings.

Coming to the specifications of the BR-V, under the hood, the SUV will come powered by 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. The former will produce 117bhp of power and 145Nm and the latter will pump in 99bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol unit will also be available with CVT transmission. As for mileage, while the petrol in manual transmission comes with a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.4kmpl, the CVT unit will deliver 16kmpl. The diesel-powered unit will deliver an impressive 21.9.kmpl.

According to brochure images leaked by Team BHP, the BR-V will be offered in four variants — VE, VS, VV and VX.

Honda BR-V E: Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, projector headlamps, LED light guide, roof rails, adjustable headrests, 2nd row gets 60:40 split seats with recline, 3rd row gets 50:50 split seats with recline, digital AC controls, front and rear power windows and tilt steering.

Honda BR-V S: In addition to E variant's features, 2-DIN integrated audio system with AM/FM/MP3/USB/AUX, Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls, 2nd row slide, ABS with EBD ,auto AC, rear AC vents, driver-seat height adjuster, electrically-adjustable OVRMs, premium seat fabric, rear defogger, rear wiper and washer

Honda BR-V V: In addition to S variant' features, push-start with smart entry, alloy wheels, multi-information display, front fog lamps, 2nd row centre armrest, security alarm, chrome door handles, auto-door lock by speed and chrome door handles.

Honda BR-V VX: In addition to V variant's features, LED position lamps, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, leather pad on door armrest, chrome side protector and heat-absorbing windshield.
