Japanese auto-maker Honda is all geared up for the launch of its much-awaited BR-V SUV in India on Thursday, May 5. The company has started accepting the bookings for its new offering prior to its launch and if the emerging reports are anything to go by, the BR-V has received over 500 bookings in April alone.

Honda opened the bookings for the BR-V on April 16. According to Oncars.in, the company has already received 567 bookings for the model and the actual figures are likely to be more than this. Expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 8.5 to 13 lakh, the BR-V SUV is expected to be offered in both petrol and diesel engines. The BR-V measures 4,453mm in length, 1,735mm in width, and 1,666mm in height, and comes with a wheelbase of 2,662mm. It offers a ground clearance of 210mm.

In India, the BR-V will come powered by 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. The former will produce 117bhp of power and 145Nm and the latter will pump in 99bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol unit will also be available with CVT transmission. Coming to the fuel efficiency of the new Honda SUV, the petrol in manual transmission comes with claimed fuel efficiency of 15.4kmpl, while the CVT unit will deliver 16kmpl. The diesel powered unit will deliver an impressive 21.9.kmpl.

As for features, the BR-V will pack automatic climate control, steering-mounted audio buttons, electrically foldable outside rear-view mirrors, LED light guides and 16-inch alloy wheels. Other features include dual airbags and ABS with EBD.
