Honda Amaze Sales Figure Touches 88,000 in India; Upcoming Car Launches in 2014hondacarindia.com

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Friday announced that the sales of its compact sedan Amaze have crossed one lakh since its launch in April 2013. Amaze has also become the fastest car from Honda to achieve this milestone.

Honda Amaze, also called the 'family car' is offered in both petrol and diesel options in the country. The company made its debut into the diesel segment in India with Amaze. The petrol variant of Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine and gives a fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl.

The diesel variant, developed specifically for the Indian market, comes with a 1.5 i-DTEC engine, that gives a mileage of 25.8 kmpl, making it the most fuel-efficient diesel car in the Indian market. The Honda Amaze also made it to the top three best selling compact sedans in the country.

In July, Honda India reported a growth of 40 percent in its India sales. The company sold 15,709 units in July, as against the 11,223 units during the corresponding month last year. Last month, the company sold 74 units of its small car Brio, while its Amaze and City offerings stood at 4,507 and 7,705 respectively. Besides this, it sold 58 units of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) CRV. Honda's recently launched Mobilio also witnessed a good sale of 3,365 units in July.
