Japanese carmaker Honda's Accord sedan is all set for its second innings in the Indian market. The Accord, in its Hybrid avatar, will mark the return of the model to the subcontinent market on Tuesday, October 25.

The bookings for the new Accord Hybrid are open for a down payment of Rs 51,000. The sedan is expected to be priced over Rs 30 lakh in India. To be brought to India as CBU (completely built unit), the Accord will come powered by 2.0-litre Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC four-cylinder engine coupled with two electric motors. The petrol unit can churn out a power of 143bhp at 6,200rpm and 175Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. It is mated to an E-CVT transmission and a 1.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output of the unit stands at 213bhp and it returns an overall fuel efficiency of 23.8kmpl.

The ninth generation of the Accord is 4933mm long, 1849mm wide, 1464mm tall and comes with a wheelbase of 2766mm. From a visual stand point, the Accord Hybrid flaunts newly-designed front fascia with new headlamps, chrome finished front grille and foglights. It features LED tail lights and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Accord Hybrid will come packed with a host of goodies, including 7-inch system with audio and smartphone integration, 60:40 split folding rear seats, premium ivory leather seats and upholstery, eight-way power adjusted driver seat, four-way power adjustable co-driver seat, piano black and wood finish steering wheel and leather-wrapped gear knob.

On the safety front, the Accord sedan will have six airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, ABS and reverse camera. It will be offered in four colour choices — Lunar Silver Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic.
