It's the time of the year when Indians across the world are gearing up for the festival of Holi. The celebration of colours is observed with much fun-fare in India, where people engage in a massive throwing of colours and scented water.

Holi has very special importance in Bollywood films as well. From "Mother India" to "Mohabbatien", several films have featured special songs on the colourful festival. Some songs like "Rang Barse" from 1981 hit film "Silsila" and "Aaj na Chodenge" from 1970 release "Kati Patang" are among the few tracks that often come to mind during the festive occasion.

Here are the top 10 all time favourite Bollywood songs that we can play during Holi:

"Are Ja Re Hat Natkhat" sung by Asha Bhosle and Mahendra Kapoor is one the epic songs from the Bollywood's first colour movie "Navrang" released in 1959.   

"Holi Aayi Re Kanhai" sung by Shamshad Begum in the 1957 epic melodrama film "Mother India" is amongst the popular Holi songs in India.  

"Aaj Na Chodenge" sung by Kishore Kumar from 1970 film "Kati Patang".

"Rang Barse" sung by Amitabh Bachchan from 1981 hit film "Silsila" is one of the most remembered songs during Holi.

"Holi ke Din Dil Khil Jate He" sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar from 1975 hit film "Sholay" is also one of the popular Holi songs.   

"Ang Se Ang Lagana" is from blockbuster film "Darr" and it is sung by Alka Yagnik, Vinod Rathod and Sudesh Bhosle.
