A report claiming that American singer and actress Ariana Grande has joined radical terrorist group Islamic State (Isis), should not be taken seriously as it is a hoax report published by a satirical website.

The 22-year-old had recently upset a lot of her fans and was in the centre of controversy after she was caught on camera saying "I hate Americans" and "I hate America" at a doughnut shop in Los Angeles.

But a parody website - The Duffel Blog - decided to take it a step further and announced that the two-time Grammy Award nominee has joined the brutal Islamist terrorist group, Isis.

The website, citing federal investigators, even claimed that a top Isis leader Abu Mohammad al-Adnani had radicalised the popular American singer.

The false story has since gone viral and it has been shared thousands of times on Facebook and Twitter. However, one look at the disclaimer page of the website would have been enough to understand that the website takes pride in publishing spoof.

"We are in no way, shape, or form, a real news outlet. Everything on this website is satirical and the content of this site is a parody of a news organisation. No composition should be regarded as truthful, and no reference of an individual, company, or military unit seeks to inflict malice or emotional harm," it says on the disclaimer page of The Duffle Blog.

The report published on The Duffle Blog on 10 July stated:

"Just days after learning of her hatred for America, federal investigators have revealed that pop singer Ariana Grande was recruited by ISIS, radicalised by spokesman Abu Mohammad al-Adnani's Ramadan message, according to intelligence sources.

In a recent audio message, al-Adnani encouraged jihadists to make Ramadan a "calamity for the infidels." Inspired by this directive, Grande infiltrated a local donut shop disguised as a customer and began maliciously licking pastries left out on display. Her wanton act of terrorism complete, she admitted her allegiance to ISIS by declaring, "I hate Americans! I hate America!"

Recently, Ariana Grande raked up quite some negative publicity over her remarks at the Wolfee Donut shop in Lake Elsinore, California. With the video of the incident going viral, hundreds of her fans took to social media to criticise Grande over the #Donutgate incident.

Grande later released a video on YouTube apologising for the 'donut fiasco' and her crazy comments, The Daily Mail reported.
