Shimla, July 19 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh has stepped up security in border areas with Jammu and Kashmir after reports of militants___ movement, said police chief, Sanjay Kumar. Director General of Police (DGP), Kumar, said that the intelligence input was passed on by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) authorities in Jammu and Kashmir. Kumar added that patrolling was intensified on the roads connecting Chamba district with Jammu and Kashmir to prevent any attempt by extremists to infiltrate. Chamba district shares nearly 200 kilometers border with Jammu and Kashmir and it is easy for the militants to infiltrate due to mountainous terrain. The restive Kashmir region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency, and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades.
