At least 10 people were killed and 15 injured after boulders reportedly fell on Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib due to a landslide in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, at 1:45pm on Tuesduy, 18 August.

Several people are feared trapped under debris at the Sikh shrine, which is located in the valley between rivers Beas and Parvati. The popular gurudwara in Kullu district is frequented by pilgrims every day.

The primary rescue operations are being supervised by the Kullu district administration under Additional Deputy Magistrate Vinay Singh Thakur, with the help of gurudwara management, local residents and devotees.

According to the latest reports, a disaster management team has also been deployed for rescue and relief efforts.

Those injured have reportedly been admitted to Kullu zonal hospital and the condition of some of them are said to be serious. The death toll is expected to rise.

In July, 36 people had been killed when a bus, carrying Sikh pilgrims, fell into river Parvathi.
