Hero MotoCorp has halted the production of its flagship motorcycles — the Karizma and Karizma ZMR, suggest the emerging reports.

A report of Drive Spark claims production of both flagship motorcycles — the Karizma and Karizma ZMR — have been stopped in the country owing to poor sale of the models. The models have been registering meagre sales in the country for the past couple of years. The report adds that while some dealers of the company have already stopped accepting bookings for both the models, the other dealerships are offering discounts to clear the stock of bikes manufactured in 2014.

The Karizma had recorded good sales in the country in the initial years before the model lost to its competitors. Although Hero had made attempts to stay in the competition by updating both models, the motorcycles could not attract much attention.

It is not clear as of now if Hero is planning to bring the updated Karizma and Karizma ZMR to the Indian market. Both the Karizma R and the Karizma ZMR draw power from a 223-cc single-pot four-stroke air-cooled engine. While the Karizma R engine makes a power of 18.9bhp and a peak torque of 19.35 Nm, the engine in Karizma ZMR churns out 19.7bhp power and 19.35 Nm torque.
