Hero HX250R Coming to India in November?heromotocorp.com

It looks like Hero MotoCorp has big plans for the huge two-wheeler market in India as reports suggest that the company is gearing up to launch its much-anticipated HX250R bike during this festive season.

Yes, we knew that Hero is planning to bring new models to India this year, but the news that HX250R bike is also one among them is quite surprising.

The source of this titbit of information is the folks at Zigwheels, according to whom Hero's HX250R sportsbike will reach Indian shores this November.

Hero HX250R, a sports bike based on the company's lightning bolt design philosophy gave us the first glimpse at Delhi Auto Expo 2014. It is Hero's first offering to come with a six-speed transmission.

Jointly developed by Hero and the company's US alliance Eric Buell Racing, HX250R is a stylish machine to offer serious performance. Under the hood, the bike packs 249cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine, which can comfortably churn out 31 PS power and 26 Nm peak torque.

It comes with goodies like twin head lamps and digital speedometer. The geodesic tubular chassis and underseat exhaust amp up the glam quotient of the bike further. There is also front and rear optional ABS.

So far, we have no idea about the exact pricing of Hero HX250R in India. But going by the rumours, we expect it to fall in the price range of ₹1.5 lakh. Thanks to the concept of localisation for making these huge motors affordable. Once it is in the market, Hero's HX250R will be competing with Honda CBR250R, KTM Duke 390, KTM RC 390 and the upcoming Yamaha R25.

In India, Hero will also be launching India's first hybrid scooter, Leap, next year. Leap would pack a petrol engine and an electric motor, powered by lithium ion batteries under the hood. Recently, Hero roped in top automobile designer Markus Braunsperger as the head of the company's research and development unit.
