Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif reportedly parted ways in December 2015 and since then, the "Fitoor" actress has lost many friends. Ayan Mukerji was said to be one of the closest friends of Ranbir and Katrina and after the couple's split, the filmmaker chose Ranbir over the actress,

Similarly, it has been reported that Karan Johar has also taken Ranbir's side. The "Tamasha" actor will next be seen in KJo's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" in the lead role and the duo has already worked in Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet." Thus, the two share a good bond and Karan is, in fact, close to Ranbir's parents as well.

"Karan avoided taking sides in the Ranbir-Katrina war for the longest time. He is fond of both. But when push came to shove he had to pitch his tent with Ranbir who is the leading man in Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.' Karan is close to not only to Ranbir but also to Ranbir's parents Rishi andNeetu Singh," a source told SKJ Bollywood News.

Katrina has worked with Karan in "Agneepath," in which she appeared in an item number, "Chikni Chameli." Apart from that one special appearance, Katrina and Karan didn't team up for any other project. There were rumours that the actress might appear in KJo's "Dostana 2," but the buzz is that the film has been shelved.

Katrina had also missed Karan's birthday in London. The director hosted a birthday party in London and invited several Bollywood celebs, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir and Katrina. The rumoured ex-couple was shooting in Morocco for "Jagga Jasoos" at that point of time and it was said that they would come to London after the shooting. While Ranbir attended his friend Karan's birthday, Katrina gave it a miss.
