Shahid Kapoor confirmed that his wife Mira Rajput is pregnant at the trailer launch of "Udta Punjab." Fans were already overwhelmed to see ex-flames Shahid and Kareena Kapoor Khan sharing a stage at the event and then, Shahid's confirmation of Mira's pregnancy was an icing on the cake.

When asked to comment on rumours about his next stage of life, fatherhood, the "Haider" actor told the press: "Why are you asking ghuma firake (round about), ask directly. Yes...haan mein baap banane wala hoon (yes, I am going to become a father)." Everyone, including Kareena, who were present at the event cheered at the good news.

Kareena and Shahid were cordial and it didn't seem like they are awkward with each other at all. At the trailer launch, the duo was indirectly asked about their working together in Abhishek Chaubey's "Udta Punjab," after "Jab We Met." Unfortunately, Shahid and Kareena do not have any scene together in the film.

The duo was seen interacting with each other on stage as well, but Alia Bhatt was always standing in between them. In fact, Kareena looked happy when Shahid announced that he was going to become a father soon.

Earlier, there have been several reports of Shahid and Mira expecting their first child. Mira was said to be in the second trimester, but the couple did not respond to these reports initially. But, now Shahid confirmed the news and surprised his fans, like he had surprised everyone with his wedding reports last year.

The buzz about Mira's pregnancy began when she attended the Lakme Fashion Week 2016 and was spotted with an apparent baby bump. While that got tongues wagging about Mira's pregnancy, Masaba Gupta reposted Mira's Instagram post that sparked speculations. The post featured Mira and Masaba's photo with the caption: "Two M's and a Bum #sayheytobey – little M."

After the post, there was a confusion about who was pregnant – Mira or Masaba. Now, we know who the "little M" is.
