Colors' longest running daily Hindi fiction show "Balika Vadhu," which was launched in July 2008, will finally pull the plug on July 31, thereby completing eight years of run. While viewers must be disappointed with the show going off air, it has been revealed that "Balika Vadhu" will end on a happy note; but not without a heavy dose of drama.

According to India Forums report, in the upcoming episodes, Kundan (Vineet Kumar) will force Nandini (Mahhi Vij) to get married to him and will take her to a temple where the protagonist will try her best to release herself from his clutches. A strong Nandini will then attack him using a trishul, while Kundan will defend himself by pointing a gun at her.

Fortunately, the police will reach the spot on time and shoot Kundan dead. With this, Nandini will be seen leading a peaceful and happy life ahead. The cast and the crew recently wrapped up the shoot and Mahhi posted a picture with her co-actors on her Instagram page and captioned it as "My boys I'll miss Dm... Bestest [sic]."

Apparently, the makers of "Balika Vadhu" decided to bring down the curtains owing to the low rating that the show had been garnering after a generation leap was introduced in the storyline. Also, the daily soap underwent another major change recently when the show timing was shifted from 8 p.m. (prime time slot) to 6:30 p.m. The changes in the storyline, the introduction of several new faces and the time slot seem to have affected the show's rating.

Recently, "Balika Vadhu" set a national record by getting featured in the Limca Book of Records as the longest running daily fiction soap. Over 2,000 episodes of the show have been telecast so far.
