Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to make "Bajirao Mastani" with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but 12 years later, he made the movie with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

However, "Bajirao Mastani" will remind the audience of "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" stars Salman and Aishwarya Rai. Ranveer and Deepika will recreate the chemistry of Salman and Aishwarya Rai from the "Albela Sajan Aayo Re" song.

"Bajirao Mastani", which has 10 songs and an official soundtrack, will also feature "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" popular song "Albela Sajan Aayo Re".

The original "Albela Sajan Aayo Re" song is sung by late Sultan Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and Kavita Krishnamurthy. However, for "Bajirao Mastani", Bhansali roped in six singers, including "Indian Idol 5" fame singer Shashi Suman.

"Bhansali sir retained the original lyrics and roped in six singers, including me, to sing it," Suman told Mumbai Mirror.

Bhansali's original choice for "Bajirao Mastani" was "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" lead pair Salman-Aishwarya. But, after "Hum Dil Chuke Sanam", Bhansali dropped the idea due to break-up of the rumoured couple.

However, Salman recently confessed that he feels unfortunate that he is not a part of the historic drama.

"I feel unfortunate to not be part of 'Bajirao Mastani'. I had to be part of "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo". I have heard the script..it is a very nice script," Salman told Press Trust of India.
