The latest episode of "Hawaii Five-O" juxtaposes comedy with a serious existential threat. In season 6 episode 12 of the procedural drama, the Five-O team undertakes a mission to find out who stole the highly unstable bombs planted by Japan during World War II. If they succeed in capturing the culprit, thousands of lives could be saved. Season 6 episode 12 titled "Ua Ola Loko I Ke Aloha" (Love Gives Life Within) will preoccupy itself with this plot.

Elsewhere in the episode, Steve's Aunt Debb (Carol Burnett) makes an appearance. It seems that she is on a mission to complete her bucket list and asks the detective's help so that she could achieve everything she's wanted. If you're wondering why she is in such a hurry to tick off every item on her list, it is because her cancer has returned. She reveals this news to Steve and his sister, Mary Ann (Taryn Manning), who are emotional but supportive of her plans nonetheless.

The promo for the upcoming episode hints at some of the things on Debb's bucket list. The elderly lady takes Steve's car for a spin and cruises through the roads, while the detective holds on tightly and asks her to slow down. A recent Ecumenical News report claimed that Debb returns to Hawaii to scatter her husband's ashes in the serene island.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Peter Lenkov said that this could be Carol Burnett's last appearance on the show. The fans of "Hawaii Five-O" can expect a bittersweet end to this procedural drama.

The synopsis for "Ua Ola Loko I Ke Aloha" (Love Gives Life Within) reads:
