Although Alia Bhatt has never admitted to her rumoured relationship with Sidharth Malhotra, the latter has said that his bonding with the actress is beyond just friendship.
Talking about his closeness to Alia, the "Baar Baar Dekho" actor said that he shares a very deep emotional connect with the actress. Sidharth said that his bonding with Alia grew over the years as they had worked together in a number of movies.
"Since I didn't grow up in and around the film industry, the rumours and the attention towards my personal life is something I am still struggling to come to terms with. I take it with a pinch of salt because it is part and parcel of being a Bollywood actor. Of course, Alia and I have a terrific bond because of the number of films we have done together," Sidharth told Mid-Day in an interview.
"We have been friends for a long time. Over the years, we have gone beyond being just colleagues and friends. You are bound to have an emotional connect when you spend so much time with someone. But, at its core, Alia and I share a deep friendship that remains unaffected by what's written about us and what people say," Alia's rumoured boyfriend added.
Rumours of Alia and Sidharth dating each other have been doing the rounds since long. The duo have been spotted partying together frequently and never shy away from publicly displaying affection for each other. They were last seen together in the film "Kapoor and Sons." Sidharth's upcoming movie "Baar Baar Dekho" is slated to be released on Sep. 9.
