Aiming to improve the bike line-up based on customer feedback, Harley-Davidson India has launched its 2014 edition of 'Street Glide' for ₹29 lakh.

"The new Street Glide is our premier offering for the Indian market and offers the perfect balance between custom touring style and long haul functionality," Anoop Prakash, managing director of Harley-Davidson India, told PTI.

The 2014 Street Glide comes to India as a completely built-up unit (CBU). The burly bike, which weighs a hefty 372 kg, retains its classic styling with the chrome shining.

The machine flaunts a new headlight, with dual halogen bulb plus fog lamps on either side. The switchgear is repositioned as well, covered in dished, textured switches.

The new Harley Davidson model has an extensive dashboard with revised instrumentation, and infotainment system which boasts of an LCD screen with two speakers. The Street Glide has other connectivity features such as Bluetooth, radio, voice recognition and a USB adapter to support mp3 devices.

With the Glide's high output of 1690cc, air-cooled and twin camshaft engine, overtaking is a breeze at virtually any speed.

Its stunning design and rider focused engineering gives the new model a sense of freedom like never before, Prakash added.

The new model has been launched under its 'Project Rushmore', a customer-driven initiative by the US-based bike maker to fundamentally improve every aspect of the touring experience.

The latest model will be available at all eleven Harley-Davidson dealerships across the country, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
