Celebrating the 70th Independence Day on Aug.15, Bollywood celebrities took to their social networking sites to wish their followers. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Priyanka Chopra and several others extended their warm wishes.

Schools and institutions have been organising cultural programmes across the country, while social networking sites are flooded with Independence Day wishes and greetings.

Shah Rukh Khan posted a video on his Instagram account wishing his fans, while Amitabh Bachchan shared tweets raising the issues of rape and gender discrimination.

R Madhavan linked a Facebook video of Lata Mangeshkar singing the iconic 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon'.
