South Indian superstar Vikram's highly anticipated Tamil romantic thriller film "I", which is set to hit screens on 9 January, has been in the news for quite some time.

Vikram, who is busy with the promotion of his upcoming film, said that it is a step forward for him as an actor.

Vikram also said that he had a tough time convincing his family for the role, as they were really worried about him doing the film.

"Body building took me three years to achieve that body for the film. It took me three to five hours to get the beast's look. My family was worried because for one character I had to gain weight and for different character, I had to lose 20 to 25 kgs," Vikram, who appears in four different looks in the film said, according to IANS.

The film also features Amy Jackson, Suresh Gopi, Upen Patel, Santhanam and Ramkumar Ganesan in pivotal roles. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran and distributed by V. Ravichandran under the banner of Aascar Films, "I" will also be releasing in Telugu and Hindi.
