Three militants have reportedly been killed in a gunfight that broke out between militants and government security forces in the Lolab forests, located in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir, the Press Trust of India (PTI) has said in a tweet.

ANI had quoted police sources as saying that personnel from the 18 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the army had cordoned off the area and begun the encounter against the militants.

According to Greater Kashmir, the militants, who were hiding inside the woods, started firing and attempted to break the cordon, following which a gunfight broke out between both the sides.
