Action thriller film "Gunday" witnessed drop on eight day following the release of "Highway" in India.

The film starring Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor in the lead role raked in around 1.75 to 2 crore on second Friday from domestic box office.

The eight day domestic total of the film now stands at 65 crore.

"#Gunday Fri 16.12 cr, Sat 12.63 cr, Sun 15.18 cr, Mon 5.85 cr, Tue 5.15 cr, Wed 4.53 cr, Thu 3.62 cr. Total: ₹ 63.08 cr nett. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The film which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan in main roles was dominating the market in its first week as it was a solo release.

However, in second week "Highway" affected the business of "Gunday" in Indian markets.

The film should score well on second Saturday and Sunday due to weekend. The film is maintaining a steady pace at the box office and should take its overall score to 75 to 80 crore.

Despite getting mixed reviews from critics, the film's performance at box office was amazing.

The Gujarat and Saurashtra circuits contributed their best in domestic collections. Apparently, Ranveer's last film "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" also did well in Gujarat circuit.

Meanwhile, after finishing its first week run "Gunday" landed into controversy.
