The results for the 2017 Class 12 examinations in Gujarat have been declared by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) — also known by its shorter form, the Gujarat Secondary Education Board (GSEB). The results declared today were for the commerce and arts streams, while those of the science stream had been declared quite some time ago.

The Higher Secondary (HS) examinations for 2017 were conducted from March 15 to March 30, with some changes in schedule, due to religious holidays like Cheti Chand. The examinations had been marred by controversy, with fear of cheating and copying prompting the authorities to monitor some examination centres with the help of CCTV cameras.

What is GSEB?

Established in 1960, GSEB is the Gujarat government board responsible for the education system in all over the state. The GSEB is responsible for academics, research and development of education in the state, but it also shoulders the duty of conducting examinations.

The board's chief academic task is to prepare the syllabi for secondary schools and recommend of textbooks. The GSEB also has the powers to recognise new schools, evaluate their performance and derecognise schools that do not pass their checks.

How to see results

The results are available on the official website of the GSEB, which is gseb.org. Students will do well to keep their roll numbers handy. Here's wishing you all the best!
