Search engine giant Google on Friday released Google Play's globally most popular apps, games, music, movies, TV shows and books in 2016.
There's no price for guessing who took the top spot in the gaming segment; Nintendo's Pokemon Go launched in early July is the most downloaded game of the year. Within days after the launch of Pokemon Go in select regions, it managed to clock more than 500 million downloads.
However, In India, Train Simulator took the top slot, as the Pokemon Go is yet to be released in the country.
In the mobile application department, Face Changer 2, a face-swapping photography app has topped the Google Play app store's global list. In India too, another photography oriented app BeautyPlus Me-Perfect Camera has taken the top slot.
