Google has unveiled Pixel and Pixel XL devices after months of speculations. The search giant has collaborated with Taiwanese company HTC again for these devices after the making the original Android phone and the first Nexus handset.

Google Pixel specification and pricing:

Google Pixel sports 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (441 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and run Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.

It comes packed with a 32/128 GB internal memory and 4 GB RAM, mounts a 12MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/2.3" sensor size and 1.55µm pixel size and an 8MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.2" sensor size and 1.4 µm pixel size, and a 2,770mAh battery with fast charging technology.

The Google Pixel will be launched in the US as Verizon exclusives, and will also be available at the Play Store with price starting from $649 ($27 a month) (£599). The Pixel with 128GB storage will however cost $749 (£699).

Google Pixel XL specification and pricing:

Google Pixel XL sports 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,440x2,560 pixels (534 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, an Android 7.1 Nougat operating system, a 32/128 GB internal memory, a 4 GB RAM and a 3,450mAh battery with fast charging technology.

The device mounts a 12MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/2.3" sensor size and 1.55µm pixel size and an 8MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.2" sensor size and 1.4 µm pixel size.

The Google Pixel will come with a price tag of $769 (£719) for the 32GB variant, and $869 (£819) for the 128GB model.

Release date and availability:

Pre-orders for the devices have started in the US, UK, Australia, Canada and Germany, and other countries, including India, will start taking orders on October 13. However, shipment of the handsets will start only on October 20.

Verizon will bring the devices to the US besides the Play Store, while e-commerce giants like Best Buy, Flipkart, Rogers, Telus, Bell, Deutche Telekom, EE, and Telstra release the handsets in other countries.

The phone will be available in black, silver and blue colours. However, blue colour model will be exclusive to the US market.
